    « Accurate measurements of N2 O intensity factors at 2 μm»

    Accurate measurement of spectroscopic parameters is necessary for many inverse spectroscopic problems, including in particular global monitoring of atmosphere, requiring determination of concentration of major and minor constituents. Nitrous oxide (N2O) is a trace constituent in the earth’s atmosphere. An accurate knowledge of the spectroscopic parameters of N2O is of crucial importance not only for deriving N2O concentrations in the troposphere and upper atmosphere but also for understanding the spectral features of other molecules located near N2O lines observed in atmospheric spectroscopic data. For the practical applications, the most important role plays the intensity of the line absorption. The frequency-comb assisted high-resolution cavity based spectrometer operating at the wavelength region near 2-μm was applied for measurements of N2O line intensities with sub-percent uncertainty.
