| Testi di riferimento | J. M. Wooldridge, Introductory Econometrics: A Modern Approach (8th edition), South-Western Cengage Learning, 2025. |
| Obiettivi formativi | Al termine dell’insegnamento, lo studente dovrà raggiungere i seguenti risultati: |
| Prerequisiti | Fondamenti di Probabilità e Fondamenti di Statistica Matematica. |
| Metodi didattici | Lezioni frontali teoriche ed esercitazioni pratiche (totale 48h). |
| Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento | L’esame consiste in una prova scritta volta a verificare la capacità di stimare modelli di regressione OLS, interpretare correttamente i risultati e discutere criticamente le ipotesi del modello. |
| Altre informazioni | Nessuna informazione aggiuntiva fornita. |
| Programma esteso | 1. Natura dell’Econometria (0,5 CFU): Introduzione ai dati economici e all’analisi empirica (Cap. 1, 19). |

| Contents | The course introduces the foundations of applied econometrics, with a particular focus on simple and multiple linear regression models estimated by Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). It provides a detailed analysis of the assumptions of the classical linear regression model, the properties of OLS estimators, and the main tools of statistical inference. Special emphasis is placed on the use of cross-section and panel data, addressing key issues such as model specification, heteroskedasticity, serial correlation, and the causal interpretation of empirical results. The course also covers functional form analysis and empirical applications using real economic data. |
| Textbook and course materials | J. M. Wooldridge, Introductory Econometrics: A Modern Approach, South-Western Cengage Learning, 2019. |
| Course objectives | At the end of the course, students are expected to achieve the following learning outcomes: |
| Prerequisites | Basic knowledge of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics. |
| Teaching methods | The course consists of theoretical lectures and practical exercises (total of 48 hours). |
| Assessment methods | The assessment consists of a written exam aimed at evaluating students’ ability to estimate OLS regression models, correctly interpret empirical results, and critically discuss the underlying model assumptions. |
| Other information | No additional information provided. |
| Detailed syllabus | 1. Nature of Econometrics (0.5 CFU): Introduction to economic data and empirical analysis (Chapters 1, 19). |
